Invite everyone, or no one

Selective review invitations are the most common way review platforms get gamed. Here is how we handle it.

The easiest way to manufacture a good score is not to write fake reviews. It is to ask only the customers you already know are happy.

It leaves no obvious trace. Every review is genuine, every reviewer is a real customer, and the resulting score is still a lie — because the sample was chosen to produce it.

What we do about it

The invitation tools have no filter by outcome, order value or satisfaction score. Not hidden behind a setting — the interface cannot express it. Quotas are monthly rather than per-send, so there is no advantage to trickling invitations out to a hand-picked list.

Businesses found inviting selectively lose their profile. We would rather lose the customer than publish a score we know is shaped.
